Recalls

AMC Part 1 recalls

After each sitting, candidates write down the questions they remember. Those "recalls" are the closest thing to a preview of what the exam asks about — if you use them the right way.

What recalls are, and what they are not

Recalls are questions remembered by candidates after the exam and shared, usually as a PDF or in a Telegram or WhatsApp group. They are not official AMC questions, and they are rarely complete: a vignette is half-remembered, options are missing, and the answer going around is often a guess.

Their value is in the topics. When the same condition comes up month after month, that is a strong signal of what the exam cares about.

Why a raw recall PDF can teach you the wrong answer

  • Answers in recall files are usually the group's best guess. Some are wrong, and a wrong answer learnt is worse than none.
  • Missing options make a question easier than the real one, so you overestimate how ready you are.
  • A PDF cannot show you what you got wrong last week, so the same gaps stay.

How DuoVa handles recalls

Each month's recall papers are completed into full exam-style MCQs: a clinical stem, five options, a single best answer and an explanation based on current Australian guidelines (eTG, RACGP), including why each wrong option is wrong. Where the answer in the recall paper disagrees with the guidelines, DuoVa flags it and explains why.

September 2026: 299 recall questions, in the app now. July and August 2026 are there too. New months are added as they arrive, and spaced repetition brings back the ones you missed.

How to use recalls well

  • Do them under exam conditions first: about 84 seconds a question, no peeking.
  • Read the explanation for every question, including the ones you got right.
  • Note which topics keep coming back across months, and make those your strongest.
  • Do not memorise recall answers. The exam changes the details; understand the reasoning.
