AMC Part 1 MCQs: PDF or app?

Most doctors start with a folder of PDFs from a group chat. They are a reasonable start, but they cannot tell you why an answer is right, or bring back what you got wrong.

What a PDF cannot do

  • Show the answer only after you commit to one, so you cannot fool yourself.
  • Explain why each wrong option is wrong, to current Australian guidelines.
  • Bring back the questions you missed at the right time (spaced repetition).
  • Show which topics you are weak in, from your own answers.
  • Tell you when the key in the file is wrong. Many shared files carry mistakes.
